In the first half of November a group of wildlife leaders from China visited Kenya to strengthen bilateral ties between government officials and reiterate China’s commitment to combating wildlife crime. The trip was organized by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) in China. Among the group was popular TV personality Zhang Yue, who is also a key opinion leader for wildlife product demand reduction campaign iTHINK, part of the USAID-funded ARREST program. The group took part in the 40th Africa Travel Association conference where Zhang Yue and IFAW Asia Regional Director Grace Gabriel participated as panelists discussing the USAID-sponsored demand reduction work in China.
